Operating times

Opening Times – Hours / Days / Peak Times

Working in this business is flexible, but there are particular times when you should consider putting on sessions.

A normal class duration is 45 minutes, non-stop Yoga.  When planning class times it’s a good idea to consider a venue that will allow you to do back to back classes in a morning or afternoon period.  Our company experience has taught us that sticking with morning or afternoon times works well and avoiding lunch times as this tends to be awkward times for picking up siblings and feeding/weaning.  Morning class structure of times could be between 9.15- 11.45am giving you time to fit in two classes of different ages and time to turn around the room in between.  You should always check if a venue charges for set up, pack up and turn around.

An afternoon structure of times could be 12.30-3 again giving time for two sessions and time to turn around.  Always bear in mind school drop off and pick up, and nursery times too.

You have the freedom to work 5 days a week enjoying the luxury of weekends off if this suits you.  You can also run classes or parties on weekends and in the school holidays.  You are free to run classes Monday to Sunday 9-6pm as an example.

Kalma suggests a minimum of 2 days and 5 classes to help establish your business.  Once established through market research in the area, you will find where the demand is and the times your customers prefer.  There is a minimum requirement of classes to be running on a weekly basis, this can be discussed with HQ once you are established.
