Business History, Expansion and Ethos

Business History

Victoria; Director of Kalma Life, Children’s Yoga teacher, Baby Massage therapist, Hatha Yoga Teacher BSY Pre and Post natal yoga teacher, Aqua Yoga Teacher, Relaxation Therapist and trainer.

“I trained in baby massage and baby Yoga in 2004, teaching baby massage and baby yoga classes for years within the nurseries and children’s centres and in my role as a family support worker at rainbow trust children’s charity. I have loved yoga for as long as I can remember, using the techniques I have learnt to support the many children I have cared for over the years. My passion for yoga and massage was reignited when I was lucky enough to become a mother to my boys. Shortly after my son was born, he became seriously ill. He was put into a coma at 11 days old, feeling helpless at his bedside, as unable to hold him due to all the wires and tubes. I massaged him daily, adding in some gentle yoga moves, to strengthen his muscles  as he lay sleeping. This was my way of sending my love to him, through this positive touch, letting him know he wasn’t alone. I know in my heart that this helped him come back to us. I knew then i wanted to support more families to bond with their children through the magic of massage and yoga.”

Kalma  has been developed to offer a range of complimentary therapy classes that aid the development of children and help with minor ailments and disabilities.  We incorporate song, music and sensory props into our sessions and follow Early Years Foundation Stages and Special Educational Needs guidelines to ensure sessions are well structured. We pride ourselves in delivering relaxing, fun yet informative sessions of baby massage, baby, toddler and children’s yoga.  Our franchise is priced to reflect affordability and our goals to be able to give others the opportunity to run their own business in these industries.

Business Vision and Expansion

We believe that Yoga should be easily accessible to all children. It is our intention to expand the business and achieve National Coverage across the UK through franchising. Franchising will help to make yoga more accessible. We believe through franchising we will attract highly motivated and capable individuals who through their franchise investment will have a real appetite and passion to make a success of their business.

Our support and training is geared to helping our franchisees achieve success in a structured and methodical way. Through hard work and application your business should grow and prosper.

Business Ethos

We have always strived to provide a great service to our parents/carers and children.  Kalma  has  grown through effective marketing and increasing brand awareness of our service and professionalism.

A customers experience will determine whether another prospective customer attends your classes in the first place. It will also determine whether they will continue to attend and make referrals on your behalf.

It is essential to maximise the customers experience from the initial enquiry. Any customer is under the care and guidance of an expert with a Kalma  teacher and they should be made to feel special. This will be seen in the professionalism, attitude and responsiveness of every contact within the company.

Key factors in our success and Business Ethos are that every contact with the customer is another chance to show how much we value their custom and that we are a trustworthy company. It is vital that each franchise maintains this ethos so that we can protect and build our brand across the UK.

Brand Protection is one of the key considerations of the business going forward in order to maximise growth and profit potential. It must be a key consideration for every franchisee and their employees too.
