Standing Section
These poses are completed with parents kneeling behind toddler, supporting them round the chest if necessary or holding the arms/hands. In older toddler classes most toddlers want to hold their parents hand and try to start to copy the pose themselves. This should be encouraged.
Benefits: Help with balance and core stability.
Tree Pose

Toddler’s arms are held out, bring one foot up to just above the opposite knee with their bent knee out to the side. Repeat on the other side. Saying “I am a tree.”
Stork

Toddler’s arms are held out, bring one foot up and out if front with knee bent. Repeat on the other side. Saying “I am a stork.”
Superman Pose

Toddler’s arms stretched out, bring one arm out to the front and the opposite leg backwards behind them. Repeat on the other side. Say “Superman!”
These three poses can be done together as a set saying “I am a Tree, I am a Stork, Superman!”
Dancer Pose

Starting from the Superman Pose, but encourage child to hold on to the lifted foot, lean forward and stretch the other arm forward. Older toddler sessions only.
Warrior 1

Take one foot forward into a lunge, bending the front leg and keeping the back leg straight. Bring arms up above the head with palms facing. Older toddler sessions.
Warrior 2
