Introduction
This guide explains moves to add to classes for children 18 months up to 3 years. These classes should be more active and engaging for children to keep their attention. You should consider whether the use of a Demo Doll should be included in your toddler yoga classes. A more engaging approach to the delivery is to show children the yoga stretches through yourself.
You may wish to consider splitting up the ages of your toddler classes when teaching. Bear in mind that an 18 month old behaves very differently to a 3 year old. Structure and use lesson plans which are age appropriate for the children to enable them to get the most from your childrens yoga classes. A younger toddler may need more sensory stimulation than an older toddler who may be capable of joining in yoga stretches without the help of an adult.
If you have completed any of our previous training modules then you can use this alongside your toddlers to deliver your yoga classes adding new content into them which is age appropriate. Always ave careful consideration to which stretches are most appropriate for the ages of your children in classes, using our guidelines within this training to help which follow.
