Break the Silence: Kalma Minds Supports Anti-Bullying Week 2026

October 11, 2026National News

This November, Kalma Life will be taking our Kalma Minds yoga and mindfulness sessions into local schools to support Anti-Bullying Week 2026.

This year’s theme is “Break the Silence”, encouraging children to speak up about bullying, listen to the experiences of others and understand the importance of asking for help.

It is a theme that fits naturally with the work we do through Kalma Minds.

Our sessions give children opportunities to explore important wellbeing messages through yoga, mindfulness, movement, games, breathwork and relaxation, creating an engaging and age-appropriate way to talk about what it means to notice, speak up, listen and seek support.

Breaking the silence starts with noticing

Bullying isn’t always easy to spot.

Children may experience it themselves, see something happening to somebody else, or notice that a friend doesn’t seem quite themselves.

Our Anti-Bullying Week sessions will encourage children to think about what is happening around them and why noticing matters.

Through games and movement, we’ll explore how we can pay attention to the people around us, recognise when something doesn’t feel right and understand that we all have a part to play in creating a kind and supportive school community.

Finding our voice

Speaking up can sometimes feel difficult.

Children might worry about what other people will think, feel nervous about getting someone into trouble or simply not know what to say.

Through our yoga and mindfulness activities, we will explore the idea of finding our voice and having the confidence to use it.

This doesn’t mean that children have to deal with bullying on their own.

Instead, we want to reinforce an important message:

You don’t have to face it alone.

Children can speak to a trusted adult, tell someone what is happening and ask for help when they need it.

Listening is part of breaking the silence

Breaking the silence isn’t only about speaking.

It’s also about listening.

Our sessions will encourage children to think about how it feels when someone really listens to us and why listening carefully to somebody else’s experience matters.

Through partner work and mindfulness activities, children will practise paying attention, communicating and working together.

We will explore how we can respond with kindness when someone tells us that something is wrong, rather than ignoring it, laughing it off or assuming that it isn’t important.

Because sometimes, being willing to listen can be the first step towards helping someone feel safe enough to speak.

Yoga, mindfulness and relaxation

As with all our Kalma Minds sessions, these important messages will be woven naturally through practical activities rather than simply sitting down for a discussion.

Children will have opportunities to explore the theme through:

Yoga and movement to build confidence and encourage positive connections with others

Breathwork to practise pausing and creating a moment of calm

Mindfulness to notice what is happening around us and within ourselves

Partner activities to practise communication, listening and cooperation

Games to explore the theme in a fun and engaging way

Relaxation to put calming techniques into practice and finish with a sense of safety and calm

Our sessions can take place on the mats in the school hall, giving children the opportunity to move, play and practise yoga together, or as gentle mindfulness sessions within the classroom.

This means we can adapt our approach to suit the space, age group and needs of each school.

A week that gets us talking about bullying

Anti-bullying week provides schools with an opportunity to approach an important subject, Kalma Minds classes do it in a way that feels positive, practical and accessible for children, while giving pupils wellbeing tools they can continue to use long after the session has finished.

We believe that conversations about bullying don’t have to feel frightening or overwhelming.

They can be about kindness, courage, confidence, connection and knowing where to turn when something doesn’t feel right.

We currently have limited availability for Anti-Bullying Week 2026.

If your school would like a Kalma Minds class during Anti-Bullying Week, we would love to work with you to create a session that is appropriate for your pupils and your school environment.

Whether you are looking for an active yoga session in the hall, a calmer mindfulness session in the classroom, or a combination of both, we can tailor our approach to your pupils.

Let’s help children break the silence around bullying by giving them the confidence to speak, the skills to listen and the knowledge that they don’t have to face things alone.
