EYFS and Education Act Policy and Procedures
This sets out the statutory duties of local education authorities (LEAs), schools and early education settings in receipt of government funding for identifying, assessing and making provision for children’s special education needs. The act also sets out the duties of LEAs in relation to statutory assessments of children’s special educational needs and the making and maintaining of statements of SEN for children with serve and complex needs. The act places a general duty on LEAs to educate children with SEN in mainstream schools where this meets parent’s wishes and is compatible with the efficient education of other children.
Early Years Foundation Stage meaning of it?
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the statutory framework that sets the standards that all Early Years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children are ready for school and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.
Codes of practice? Kalma Baby uses various methods to incorporate Early Years into all of its classes. Using language such as counting and singing, using sensory props to ensure stimulation of senses are developed, using Yoga inspired stretches to ensure health development and playing music. We ensure our children are kept safe and healthy at all times, and learn a broad range of skills every session which will help them develop. Kalma Baby teachers should keep up to date with EYFS framework set out by the government and by following lesson plans this ensures all sessions have EYFS firmly rooted. A yearly CPD will include EYFS and ideas used in sessions encouraged so that we maintain EYFS as a standard.
